I had the front bumper up to the headlight line, the leading edge of the wheel arches, the side skirts, and the lower rear valance done in the latest 3M product before I took delivery...ran about $1K...

Agree, but that's the area I've noticed gets the dirtiest, tons of marks. Having a clearbra here is great. I think the front tires throw up a lot from the road. The R compound tires are so sticky, that doesn't help things.

Did the same thing within the first 100 miles I owned it, including the headlights and mirrors. (I think I also had the A-pillars
done)

It's a very common place, because the rear fenders are flared and get all the stones the front wheels pick up. For those of us who owned some Porsche's in the past (which come from the factory with 3M film on the rear fenders) are familiar with it.

Aha, excuse my ignorance, but looking at the picture I somehow got the impression we were looking at the front fender

Rear fender makes sense.

I've heard good things in the Porsche community about Langka. Although I have never tried it, many swear by it. You still need your color-matched factory touch up paint. The important thing is to even out the filled-in area, and then seal it back up.

Silly me..old guys don't understand all the abbreviations !!!!

Get it resprayed properly before you do the protective film...

Before I took delivery of my CPO'd BS the dealer sent it to a Merc authorized body shop who did the paint and the film....

I purchased my BS CPO'd from MB of South Charlotte in February.
Only going by pix as I'm about 700 miles away !!!

Luck was with me as forum member Chuck Z ( Thank you Chuck ) was at the dealership and noticed the stone chips...
Not sure how bad, but took Chuck on his word...
Chuck was gracious enough to email me, I contacted the dealer and they had the paint repair done at no charge to me prior to delivery.
The local authorized Merc body shop did the paintwork and installed the 3M protective film...
