Can someone post pictures of their driver side mirror glass...

I was just driving yesterday and my driver side glass had a lot of vibration so I looked closer and noticed a black ring around just the driver's side. I thought this was because the previous owner had replaced the mirror glass, now I'm reading that it's a part of the the self-dimming mirror. Can anyone verify this. Also is anyone else having heavy vibration on the drivers mirror at around +60 mph. The passenger side is steady.

I can't recall that, and I will probably forget to take a pic tomorrow... but I will try to remember.

But, I just drove the BS today, NO vibration at 60mph (or any mph for that matter), so if you have a vibration, something is wrong.

I have had the exact same issue with just the driver's side glass vibrating at Interstate speeds. I've had the mirror replaced, then the motor. It has helped alot, but not completly cured the problem. More work to do in the spring. Warranty has covered it all of course.

Does yours have the black ring around the glass?

The mirror on both the driver and passenger side are exactly the same appearance for you(besides being mirror images of each other)?

Can others chime in on this black ring? I wonder if mb got rid of the dimming feature on the bs after realizing the self it caused this type of vibration.

Yes, the driver's side mirror has a black ring around it whereas the passenger side mirror doesn't.

I wonder if the dimming feature has an inherent flaw in the design that leads to the vibration. Lewisracing, if your driver mirror looks the same as the passenger, I'm assuming it doesn't have the dimming feature.

+1
My car is configured the same way. No vibration. I'd venture to say the mounting point for the mirror/pivot plate is broken causing the vibration at speed.

Same here. Black ring, no vibrations at any speed after 3 years and 26K miles.

When you get the invoice from the service dept. can you post the part numbers here? I'd like to compare them to the ones so far tried on my car.

I went by the dealership...

I got the part number that's on order it's 2098100176 (door assembly frame). The part comes in at the end of the week. I'll give an update of the results.

Looking forward to your results.

I've had the "mirror" and "motor" replaced per my SA and still am experiencing a vibration at highway speeds; (the right side mirror is completely static at speed). I'll try and find the part numbers.
