I am still looking for the right car. It seems many are multipls owner cars that seem to be beaten up pretty good. Maybe you have the perfect car?

Thanks Boys & Girls (btw are their any female BS owners on here?)

I may be selling mine in the next 2-3 months. I'm on the list for the C63 Black Series, and I'm doing a lot of travelling in the summer months this year so I won't be driving my car much. Only had it out for 2 days so far this year.

I bought the car bone stock last August, installed the iPod and Bluetooth modules, tinted all the windows, and 3M'd the entire car (matte 3M) so it looks Satin Black. I also bought spacers for the stock wheels, as well as ADV.1 wheels (which I'll be keeping for the C63 BS), so the car is pretty much stock/unmolested. There are 2 warranty issues that I have to get done at a US dealership (none in Montana) so I haven't done them yet. The downshift paddle needs replacement (it sometimes doesn't register), and the triangle bracket by the drivers side seat belt retracting thing is broken. The car is CPO'd so there's extended warranty on the car. Other than that, every worn item has been replaced, including the carpets, so the car looks brand spankin' new inside and out. I bought the car at 9000 miles and there's around 11,000 miles on the clock right now.

Here's some pics of what it looks like with the stock wheels:

Car splits its time between Montana and Alberta (Canada). Clear Montana title. Car is currently in Calgary, so if you want to do a day trip to check out the car in person, flights are fairly cheap between here and Vegas ($400 round trip).

I know you've seen mine before but I thought I would post again. It's a single owner car with zero track time, bone stock and in great shape. The miles are a little high (29k at the moment) but they are mostly highway since it's my daily driver. Also there's a good bit of factory warranty left (til 50k or 10/2012) and I have a certified dealer to handle the paperwork. Just something to consider.

Anyway, good luck.

Thanks! Believe it or not, it looks way better in person. Pictures can't capture what it looks like. I have yet to take a perfect picture of the car, I don't think it's possible without a lot of extra lighting.

If you've ever seen the MB Designo Magno Night Black paint on a Benz, my car looks almost identical.

The 3M is actually clear Matte on top of Obsidian Black Metallic to get the Satin Black look (the metallic flakes reflect under the matte clear). The Matte Black Vinyl sucks (I have it on my C63), peels really bad, and gets damaged way too easily. It took a while for me to find a good Obsidian Black Metallic CLK63 when I bought mine.

It cost me around $5k to get it done.

2008 CLK63 AMG Black Series
That one on ebay, not surprised the buy-it-now, there are hardly any for sale like there once was. Last year in late summer into fall there were an amazing amount for so few sold in our country, I counted over 20 for sale from Car and Driver, Autotrader and eBay, with that many the prices were much more competitive, price ranges for such low mile CLK BS were almost $10k less than now. Mine was the same as the one listed, 2,400 miles, CPO’d (not sure on this one), stock and unmolested with indicators showing no other surprises, for almost $10k less.

That one appears to be straight up, tires from what I can see of them shows car was not abused, easy to tell the chew marks of someone hammering the corners or drifting their *** around. Spotted a remote radar/laser detector on it, front bumper has the laser receiver unit hanging there, and there are 2 blue LEDs on the bottom lip of the instrument cluster bezel, a good idea when your car screams gimme a ticket.

Best of luck for those looking.

Silver, 90k, 2940 miles, no warranty indicated,

Silver, $90k, 4,948 miles, 4 year 50k, good till ?? Sometime in 2012

Silver, $85 now $83 on eBay, 2,506 miles, 33 months/100k warranty left, was a 5 yr/100k so warranty runs out 5/2013 (2.9 years from now)

Indeed ... I've added about 6k miles to mine over the past 15 months and believe real value is about the same as when I bought it (Feb '10, 10k mi, mid $70's).

You can't ask for more than that !!!

I almost bought the car you have ... I was one day late with my decision

However, I was VERY satisfied with the car I did get ... it was a bit less $$$, as clean as any other and it was local to me, saving a couple thousand in transportation.

I've been through some cool cars and I haven't had any desire to switch out of this one.

OOOPS

I do remember the sales person indicating that they had someone interested and were waiting for a deposit...
If I recall the asking price was $85.9K and you? had negotiated down to around $80K...
I jumped at it and had them include the delivery from Charlotte to Delaware..
Also had them touch up some stone chips and do the 3M film protection ( at my cost )
I've only put about a 1000 miles on it...severe winter kept it in the garage and another Merc project has been taking much of my time...
Maybe I'll roll it out, wash the garage dust off and drive it this weekend !!!

Great news, congrats! When you ever come back down to earth, let us know how high of a buzz you got during all this purchase and new owner experience, it is good

Is that 5/60 a CPO extended. When I got back I went to my local MB Dealer and extended it out much as they offered, bit of money but so is the car and any repairs, its a gamble I will use it all but did hear something about getting a refund on the unused part in the end, can't remember as there were too many drives after that day and its all a blur now , sure you will know this feeling soon!

New owner quickies; yes it idles a little fast at cold start, no worries, let the oil circulate during that time while the ECU warms the cats with the extra rpms, then easy drive in transmission “C” for a few miles to let temps get acclimated.

Read we have a 6,500 mile break-in period, no matter how much is done at any factory to have it broke-in-ready, still best to give your nice engine a fighting chance at a respectable break-in period.

Once its broken in and you want to explore the rpms, engine oil temp must be above I think 79 C as indicated on your display, push a few button to locate the display, it will be blinking till you get past the 79 C point, then you can hammer through the gears. If you do this before the temp is up, there will be an abrupt cut at higher rpms there to protect your engine’s longevity, truly is better to have these features now available to us, built and tuned many American cars and know such things are very good practices, and glad to now see them programmed into more performance engines these days.

Tires are a bit skittish at first/when cold (as any tire), learn it on some safe roads before you get too on it. Nice things that some don’t realize is that these OEM tires have one of the best controlled/readable breakaways/drift out angles, no wonder Jeremy Clarkson said even his gramma could be a drift queen with this car (the car’s suspension has something to do with this too). I say that also because other brand tire ideas later might not do the same. Also new fresh tires will always be stickier than the old ones, so some that have gone with other brands, it’s not fair to compare the new tire’s better grip with the old tires grip.

If you want a good fitting great quality car cover, got lucky and found one that fits the CLK BS perfect, it’s listed for the CLK 63 AMG BS and Convertible at the same time (in the drop-down menu) but it fits my black perfect! http://www.carcoverworld.com/
At the first page select your year, car and model, then click the upper left icon "Custom Fit Covers". Then once you pick the cover, it will ask for model again, pick Black Series Convertible. I picked the version for my garage, that being one that protects from dust and breaths and is soft to the paint, all the others seem to be more for outside protection and not as gentle to the car with regular remove/installs. The CoverCraft version was their Block-It Dustop, SKU C16480TS for $209. RBYCC might like one too since he said he needed to “dust his off” and get it out.

Sorry if you already read any or all of this elsewhere/before.
