NEW TIRES

Decided to change out the Corsa's as the rears were about gone at 7000 miles.

Merc dealer had the rear Corsa's available for $788.00 each, but couldn't guarantee the date codes as being fairly current.

Went with the Conti Extreme Contact DWS all around with fresh date codes as I do street driving in a Coastal area with no change of elevation or any type of curve that you can push the car into...

Also couldn't be assured of date codes on Yokohama's that were also available.

So far the twenty five mile return trip from the dealer in the rain was much better the the trip up on slippery Corsa's !!!

The Conti EC DWS is what the AMG Academy uses on the CLK63BS they track.

DWS? I think it would be the DW. DWS is an all-season tire and unless you are driving in snow and really cold temps, I have no idea why folks would choose the DWS over the DW.

How about because the DW isn't available in the 285/30 reason enough not to put them on a BS ?

The DW is only available in 285/35 which is over an inch taller then the 30 ratio.

Anyone living on the East Coast will see near or sub freezing weather as normal for several months in a typical year...
The DW is not recommended for near freezing temps...!

All the tests/reviews I've read recently indicate that the treadwear on the DWS is about twice that of the DW. Surprisingly, it sounds like, despite being a M+S spec, the DWS is just an all-around better tire than the DW.
