Insurance Quote?
Hi all.
I am on the market for a CLK63.
I called my insurance company today and they said they are not sure if they can insure it for less than $200 a month.
What are you guys paying for insurance? I am 30 with 0 accidents.
Thanks!

Again, it heavily depends on where you live, coverage limits, miles/year, commuter/pleasure, etc.
Without knowing all that, I'd say $2400/yr is a bit high. For maxed out limits, ~8k/yr, I'm at ~$1500/yr on a 2013 C63 BS, which should be only *slightly* higher than a 2008 CLK63 BS.
Get the car, insure it, then shop around. I've been very pleased with AAA.

42 Single, 5k a year, 500/1m, no accidents or tix. $110 + change a month. Mercury. 500 deductable.
Again,
none of this information is useful to you becuase everything varies based on where you live and how many miles you drive. Another set of factor is how many policies you have. Umbrella, corporation, LLC, Estate, deductable, coverage amounts. Uninsured motorist, rental car, and so on and so forth.
Having said that, $200 a month is very high no matter what. Good luck.

CLK63 Black Series $1316.00 per year, $0 deductible, $89K agreed upon value, no mileage limitations via Grundy Worldwide collectors insurance.
Lower the agreed upon value and the premium goes down.
OP indicated CLK63, if it's not a Black Series the agreed upon value would be much lower.

Outstanding! Thank you guys so much!
I am on the fence though... I found a really nice 05 ferrari 360 for around the same price ($75-85K).
I've worked on lots of AMGs including engine tear downs and build ups. For example, E55, E63, CLK55, SL55, CLS55, ect. Are the CLK63's a lot more different to work on than the SL55, E55, CLS55, ect?
I keep hearing from CLK63 owners saying that the CLK63 is highly reliable and can be driven as a daily driver.
The owners of the ferrari's say the maintenance is killer and there a PITA to work on.
Thoughts?
Thanks everyone!!!!

Are you looking for a CLK63 or a CLK63 Black Series?
Big difference

I wouldnt buy a 360 if it was the last car on the planet. The two cars are not even in the same league. It sounds like you have 75k to burn somehow. If you are considering the 360, then may i suggest that you should seriously consider the F355 first, as it is a better car in every way possible. Just make sure the 355 has had its belt service done recently.

I'm not even going to say how much my insurance is because its absolutely ridiculous due to my not so stellar driving record (0 accidents but plenty of tickets). What I will say is that it is much much cheaper to insure than a GTR. I was planning on purchasing a GTR instead of my Black, but when I got my insurance quote, I changed my mind pretty quickly. (looking back on it, getting the Black over a GTR was one of the better decisions i've ever made)
Also, 360's are garbage. A friend of mine had one a few years back and it was nothing but problems. The Black is better than it in every way. In my opinion, a 360 is a car that someone will only buy because it is a mid-engined Ferrari that looks relatively new. If you really want a Ferrari, either deal with having an "older body" ferrari and get a 355, or save your money and get a 430 or a Challenge Stradale.

I think I need to buy my insurance agent lunch tomorrow, I am paying less on my brand new SLS BS than some of you guys are paying for a 6 year old CLK BS. I am 42 with a really bad driving record, no DUIs or accidents but quite a few speeding points on my record.

Hi Jrcart,
It has been a while since i have been on this site...anyway, I see you now have a 2014 SLS BS. Are you planning to add the Wesitec supercharger to this car as well?

Yes, the car is actually shipping out to Weistec this week for the 3.0L blower install and a few other goodies.
