E85 ECU Tune: Pros/Cons?

Has anyone created or running an E85 ECU tune on a M156 motor?

Feel free to add to the list...

Pros:
1. Better performance with the estimated 100 octane
2.
3.
....

Cons:
1. MB fuel system not designed for E85???
2.
3.
....

Thanks in advance!

IMO, unless you're going to go for the Full Monty (blower, exhaust, intake and ECU tune), in general, a stand along ECU tune on any naturally aspirated car, including the Black, simply isn't worth my hard earned money. Sure you may have dyno bragging rights in terms of minor HP and torque increases, but in terms feel it in the seat of your pants performance, a simple ECU flash doesn't cut it. BTW...have tried it twice, on two different cars and swore I'd never throw my money away again.

That said, I realize "worth" is a relative thing

I agree you can't get the full potential of a ECU tune without putting more air in and letting more out. However, with the group buy we had at Weistec i felt it was 'worth' it. My focus was the rev match and the ECU flash was more impulse than a need.

After the Weistec tune the mid to top end rpm range felt noticeably stronger. Not mind blowing but noticeable. I drove one of their Stage 2 cars and that was very different and smooth power all the way through the RPM range. Would that be 'worth' $15K, not in my opinion. But again, I'm not trying to go any faster...
