Couple questions about this car...
- do I need a tune to remove secondary cats to prevent a CEL?
- what's the trick to the start/stop button? Doesnt seem to work on my car.
- how do I turn ESP off completely?
Thanks. So far I am liking the car...just taking a bit getting used to the seats. And it needs about 150 more hp at the wheels!
- do I need a tune to remove secondary cats to prevent a CEL? PROBABLY
- what's the trick to the start/stop button? Doesnt seem to work on my car. MUST BE BROKEN
- how do I turn ESP off completely? PUSH THE BUTTON

Its been a little while since i was under the car to verify this but I believe the secondary cats are after the O2 sensors which means the CEL should not come on. If you remove the primary cats which the two O2 sensors are, then the CEL will go on. If you put on long tube headers you should get the hole made for the O2 sensors. If you bypass the O2 sensors to always read 'perfect' air/fuel mixture you will throw off the ECU mapping/tune as it will not be able to adjust for whatever conditions are happening in the motor, IMHO.

I just leave the key in my pocket, foot on the brake, push button, change gears and go! ;-) If its not that simple, then something else is wrong.

I know on the older W210 you can pull a fuse to completely disable ESP. I think the 'safety' feature of this W209 prevents completely disabling it via the button. It may require some ECU adjustment to fully disable the 'safety' features of this car. If I recall correctly, Weistec has a 'solution' for this issue based on their supercharger system constantly provoking the car's 'safety' system... and they can add a lot more than 150 HP to the wheels! ;-)
Hope that helps a bit.
