Any new CLS drivers tall enough to have frontal headroom problems? Anyone over 6'2?

As I try and get a grasp on how much I do or don't like the new CLS (I definitely like it all in all, just how much is the question), I still can't get over the limited headroom in the front.

At about 6'4, I have to either really slouch, or have my head crammed right up to the roof, to fit in properly. Obviously, this would be a safety hazard as well. I'm surprised the new CLS provides NO additional front headroom from the old one, even considering the slightly taller greenhouse.

I know it's a "4-Door Coupe" and all that marketing jazz, but there are sleeker cars with much more headroom. Hell, even most 2 door Coupes have more headroom, including the previous and next gen BMW 6-Series'. I've sat in Supercars that are so short they only reach my knees, but when I sit in them, my head has room.

I just find it odd that M-B can't design a 4-Door, large 4K pound car with a sleek roofline, to fit even an NBA Point Guard into.

So any tall buyers dealing with it? Or are there any "tricks" or secrets that I'm missing? I'd like to have a CLS on my radar if I don't keep my E after the Lease is up, or for the long haul, etc.

I'm not 6'4" but a little over 6'2, and wide... but I found the head room adequate in the extended test drives that I took with the car. Enough so that I ordered one today. It's not "high ceilings for days", but it's comfortable. I can't complain I dropped the seat low as I did in my GS. Same seating position and it works perfectly. I've been shopping for a new car for 2 years and this one did everything right.

I think a lot of people think the new CLS has more headroom since it appears to have lost the rooflines..but i actually think the roofline is unchanged..the larger windows just make it appear like that. but Really? Are you seeing that much difference in headroom in the E?..I mean I know the rear is slim..but the front? I used to have the w211 and I'm not a tall guy but it didn't seem that much different(then again I guess if you are 6'4..every centimeter counts lol). My lil bro(~6'1-6'2) has absolutely no issues with the CLS..he doesn't even put the seat on the lowest setting. You must have all your height in your torso lol.

Yeah, I think the torso element is what tells the story!

It seems like 6'2 is kind of the "sweet spot" in terms of max height. Another poster who got a CLS is 6'2 and said that headroom is less than ideal, and somewhat bothersome, but he can live with it. And yup, at this height, ever centimeter counts.

The W211 I had actually had upsetting headroom too, kinda bothered me. The extra half inch the W212 provides is JUST right, I mean, any less and it becomes bothersome.... Unless I'm doin' a gangsta lean .

The extra inch the W212 gives over the CLS is such a help (36.9 VS 37.9), and my sentiments on the W211 make sense because it seems like the number for that one is 37.4, which is right in the middle, lol.

I don't get why M-B is so terrible at headroom. Even my old W220 had bad headroom, and that's a huge S-Class! In fact, my W211's front headroom was better than my W220's I feel like.

On the other side of the pond, my old '09 Chevy Malibu which is LOWER than an E-Class AND has windows practically as tiny as a CLS's, had massive headroom up front. Chevy can do it but M-B can't (Design a low car with a sleek A-Pillar/roof-line and small windows that could fit a taller - and I'm not talking NBA Center or Forward here person in it)? Weird.

I am 6'4", but I have a 36" pants inseam - long legs. I sat in a 2012 CLS and it seemed to have adequate headroom. I didn't really pay that much attention. I hope it does because I want to own one one day.
