2012 CLS Interior Details
I'm about to place an order for a Black 2012 CLS550 4matic. I am trying to find more details / differences between the Black Leather Interior, Black Premium Leather Interior and Black Sport Premium Leather Interior?
Can anybody help? This is the only thing holding up my order...

If you were going to spend $1370 on premium leather my advice would be to spend the $2.3K extra grand and get the Designo Black Interior. It upgrades everything to the premium leather (dash, doors , under dash ...) + the seats get upgraded to Designo Black leather + Better carpets + Alcantra roof liner. Also you get can select Piano Black interior trim. I think for $3750 the designo interior is a awesome package to select for this car. It will bring a whole new level of luxury and feeling every time you step into the car.

The black sport premium leather is only available if you order one of the wheel packages and the premium leather. There is also standard black sport leather. The sport refers to the fact that there is gray contrast stitching, and pictures of this option can be seen in the downloadable CLS catalog on the MBUSA website.
I do not believe it is possible to get the sport leather without a wheel package, and I also do not think you can get the wheel package and opt out of the sport leather (if you choose black leather, that is). The sport leather option with contrast stitching is only available with black, not almond or ash gray.

Ohji,
Thanks for the information, that is very helpful. I like the look of the grey contrast on Black, so I will go that route.

I don't know WHY they don't make the porcelain/black available on non launch edition cars -- it is my favorite interior color for the CLS! My guess is they want you to spend the big bucks on designo, but since I'd rather get one of the wheel packages and palladium silver or diamond white, the launch edition is not for me...
