Just had my resonator delete done today. Used the stainless pipe. Not too loud under normal accelerating. Nice mellow sound when accelerating at moderate throttle. When getting on it a real nice loud sound. A lot better than stock and totally differant than a hot rod chevy or ford and in my humble opinion nothing like our big brother the AMG. The only noise you hear out the tailpipes other than the deep rumble is air "flutter" sound when car is in neutral and you stand a few feet back from the exhaust. When put in gear the flutter goes away. I do not hear it inside so will probably live with it. According to my performance shop guy that could possibly be fixed with an X pipe. No action for now. Also , NO drone at highway speeds (75-85) mph .

Glad you like it so far. FYI- I honestly believe the exhaust sound got a tad 'deeper' after putting on more miles. Has anyone else notice this?

Absolutely loving the experience so far... but I'm not looking forward to the winter months.

I'm guessing the "flutter I am hearing out the exhaust is the lack of the resonator to baffle and slow down the flow and the muffs not designed to handle the change. Sounds dumb to me so what do you think. Should I try the X pipe or the H pipe to rid me of this flutter?.
Also, have tried to record sound with two cell phones but neither one replicates the sound correctly. No way you could know this, but it sounds similar to my old 95 Impala SS that had Spin Tech muffs. That car had a great rumble at idle (CLS does not). Impala was 1000 rpm at idle and about 450 hp w/o the 150 shot of NO). Had Borla res. and tips. On hard launch the sound was like no other. Wish I still had it. Hey, maybe I should waste some more $$ and try the Spin Tech.

if I can figure out how to make a recording of the exhaust sound I would be glad to send it to the forum. any suggestions would be appreciated .I will be in Sebring Florida next weekend so if you happen to be there let me know and I will give you my phone number and we can meet up and you can hear the car under acceleration or just driving around the course.

resonator delete on my cls 550 sounded bad, I had done this mod months ago. I hated the sound the car sounded like old pos v8. I'm now rocking stocks. Now If I do cat delete then it's going to sound more like 63AMG and make power at the same time. Our cars have 2 cats on each side of the engine and 63AMG has only one on each bank.
