Already my 2nd post.....4Matic

I live in Louisiana and while we don't have much snow we get a bunch of rain and of course standing water on the roads. I can't help thinking I should get the 4matic version for extra grip. The dealer says no (keep in mind they don't stock them here) and they say I don't understand the MB suspension enough to realize its value and that the rear wheel drive has better driving dynamics. I did a forum search on 4matic before this post as not to beat this subject to death, thanks.

Very sorry, my question is that could I be over thinking this issue and should I be just fine without it? Thanks

You do not need 4matic in Louisiana. Get a 2WD with sport +1

Looking at CLS 550
I'm planning to buy the 4matic. I live in Texas, but in a couple years I'll be moving to Colorado. I currently have all wheel drive on my sedan and when the streets are oily and wet after it rains, I can still drive how I like.

AWD will make the car handle differently. A little more likely for understeer since its all wheels are engaging. Also, no Displays of acceleration by lighting the back end up. Just straight fast acceleration. And the AWD does little to affect MPG.
