New owner: 2007 CLS500 - Tire problems!
Hi guys
Newcomer to the forum so hello from the UK, I picked up a late 2007 CLS500 (388) last week and have it in my local garage while they fix the parktronic system and some front droplink stuff. While they are at it they are saying there is a mismatch with the wheels/tires - apparently the dealer I bought it from have accidentally put one of the wheels from the rear on the front (it has stamped on the inside: DO NOT FIT TO FRONT OF CAR (good job guys))
So we got talking about what tires SHOULD be on it and there seems to be differing opinions - I've seen threads on here that say 245/40/R18's are fine all round, where my garage says those are OK for the fronts but the rears need 265/40/R18. I guess it depends on the width of the wheel itself, but to be honest I'm lacking any real information so hoping you guys can clue me in as to what "should" be on the car (or at the very least, what most people run with)
Any help greatly appreciated!
Cheers
Dave
