New owner of a CLS here!

Hi all,
Had several MBs, just picked up a great CPO 2014 CLS.

Times are changing. Between CAFE and emissions, everyone is downsizing their engine. V8's are being replaced with 6's, 6's with 4's.
The time is coming soon when the only MB sedans with V8s will be the S-class and AMG models.

So, I am going to have a fling with something that's nearly the last of its kind, a V8 sedan (and twin turbo to boot!).

History: New C300 4Matic, New E350 4Matic, New GLK350 4Matic, CPO E550 4Matic, CPO CLK550 4Matic. Jag X-Type, Jag XJ8L, Jag XF

Congratulations on the great, new ride! I owned a 2012 ML350 but bought a 2017 CLS550 about six weeks ago for exactly the same reasons as you. That power will be hard to find in the future for non AMG Mercedes cars.

Thanks! I wanted something with Distronic (I've gotten spoiled driving my wife's car from time to time). Today in rush hour traffic, it was nice to just pick a lane, hit the Distronic, and let it do its thing.

The acceleration is breathtaking, the multicontour seats and massage are fabulous for my bad back (the massage function on the SL spoiled me).

This is a truly fabulous car. I went for two drives over the weekend, just because.

Congratulations on your CLS. We have a 2013 CLS550 that we have had about 3 months now. I love the distronic also. But, our multicontour seats (or the driver's seat) sucks. The massage feature is very nice but the seat has a pronounced bulge in the middle back. It doesn't adjust out no matter what you do. We've taken the car to three different dealers who all say it is functioning properly. It is hard for me to believe that Mercedes designed the seat like this but the dealers say that there are no codes so there is nothing wrong.

Is your seat really comfortable? Can you feel a contour or bulge in your middle to upper back? I'm trying to figure out what to do. I think our best bet is to find another car at the dealer to compare it to but we haven't found one yet.

OK, here's the daylight photos. Not beauty shots, just parking lot shots.
Love the car more every day.....

Congrats! Beautiful ride and the M278 engine is awesome (even more so with a tune)!
