Wifey killed our CLS400.
Out here in So/Cal we've finally gotten a decent amount of rain lately, and with that some big puddles. My wife hit one and it was deep, how deep you ask, enough to hydro lock the motor. So after the dealer quote $39xxx for the motor plus labor the insurance company total it out and is in the process of paying it off. I was please with the actual value they came up with so everyone was made whole. I will miss that car but my wife wants a crossover since we have the grand kid on the weekend a lot now days. One reason I like my CLS was the built in excuse, papa can't take you guys there's not enough seat for three of you kids lol. It been nice reading this forum maybe I'll come back one day, if I can ever afford a late model S class.

I'm confused what doesn't make sense? That she accidentally drove into a puddle of water much deeper than she thought it was? Or that water was sucked into the intake, causing engine to hydrolock. Or that the insurance would paid off as total loss? Cut and dry we're out of a few thousand and have to purchase a car. FYI we value the car 2015 cls400 at approximately $53K 54K, actual value insurance came in at $52900. I was surprise looking at Mercedes usual depreciation that our car value held up so well. I say for a car we paid $63,561 Msrp $71440, 2 years ago I'm very satisfied with the way this turned out.
