Suspension question

A warm hello from the R230 forum (the SL class).

Was recently at the local MB dealer and got to talk about the CLS550 that i'm going to check tomorrow. Maybe, in the end, i will trade in my SL500 for one. But, for now, a question about the air suspension.

Have you guys experienced issues? Why i am asking is because my regular service guy said he sees those cars regularly in the shop due the air suspension. It sounds weird to me because I am pretty sure MB didn't create a specifically new suspension just for the C218 body. They should have kept the struts design similar to the ones used in other classes. Still, that's what he stated. Is it true?

Any other things to look out for?

Thank you in advance

Compare to steel suspension, air suspension is always more problematic. The trade off is a more comfortable ride and better handling.
