Comparison 2012 vs 2013 vs 2014
Hi all,
I've been doing some research on which CLS550 to purchase between 2012-2014. I've been scouring the internet trying to find out what were the differences if any. I couldn't find anything so I had to go to a few dealers so here are my findings.
2012 was a carry over to 2013, except;
2013 - blue efficiency badge was deleted for 2013 onward.(rightfully so). changed to 4.7 L V8 ( I saw 2012 specs with both 5.5 and 4.7, not sure about this), Eco stop start becomes standard. Couple other exterior colors added.
2014 - new backup camera, higher res and includes guidelines and different placement. New button to keep manual mode manual(you can keep the car in manual mode as long as you desire).
This helped me a lot because I didn't want to miss out on anything. I do believe though that the COMMAND system is more updated on a 2014, I read that somewhere, don't quote me on it. Hopefully this helps if you are looking for a car. I saw some low mileage 2012 and some high mileage 2014 in my price range, decisions, decisions. Any opinions on which I should go for?

MBWorld Fanatic!
Did the same research and opted for a low mileage 2012 model since the differences were so little. Not a fan of the command or the backup camera so it was an easy decision for me.
Depends whats more important for you.. For me it was mileage as i do a lot of driving

Someone was saying the 2012 doesn't shift as good as the 2013 plus. Dunno how true that is.... Are the rear camera guide lines even helpful?
What is the command system? I'm looking for a cls also not familiar with them
