Hi, I have a 2014 CLS550 4Matic and the steering wheel tilt feature is now stuck in the up position. The in/out feature still works. I searched on this forum and there seems to be some issues with older (W219) tilt motor coupling failure, but in every case they hear the motor trying to move but no actual movement. In my case there is no motor noise, just a click when trying to move up, and nothing when trying to move down.

Does anyone have some insight into this issue? Can I fix this myself?

 

It is a very labor intensive repair---if you have 4 or 5 weekends and the factory repair docs----go for it
