Muffler Only Delete
Hey guys,
After much research, questions and YouTube videos I finally pulled the trigger on the muffler delete for the w218 550 engine. Every video, thread or post I’d see people were mixing terminology, not showing pictures, sound clips, etc.
So, here it is. This is the muffler only delete. Resonator in the middle and cats left in place. No H-Pipe, X-Pipe. I just wanted a bit more grumble and sound, but not the full AMG like sound exhaust. That type of exhaust I already have on my CLK 500 (muffler delete, resonator delete, cherry bomb glasspacks).
There is no drone, good sound on acceleration, quiet idle, minimal sound in the cabin. Very pleased with the sound and what I was looking to achieve.
Any questions, let me know.
Thanks,
Angelo

This is exactly what I've been looking for. I've been a bit wary about the resonator deletes as some people say it gets very loud. I just want a bit more rumble but without the drone.
Definitely going to look into this. If you don't mind me asking, how much was it?

Sure, only $90 all in. It was a no brainer.
Thanks,

Can any old muffler shop do this or you need someone who has special skills, equipment, or experience?
Can the mufflers be added back in if a future owner wants them back on?

I did the same muffler delete on a 2012 CLS550 I had a few years ago and was very happy with the sound. I also had them weld on some dual tips.
Please disregard the subject line of my YouTube clip that says “Resonator”. It was a MUFFLER delete.
I also did the same Muffler delete on my 2014 SL550 and it was a bit milder sound but I was still happy. I just traded the SL in for a 2016 CLS550 and plan to do a Muffler delete this weekend.
Angelo, I noticed you also live in Las Vegas. Just out of curiosity where did you get your done?
