Intake Kit Group Buy?
So I know few of you are running UPD's intake kit, which does wonders on our engines along with the M157. A friend of mine and I are making our own for a far cheaper price ($250) mark. I should have pics of the item along with bolts on my car in next few days. I think group buy of 10 people of $199 each would be a good starting point to make more in the future. Let me know your thoughts!

best of luck to you!
while i do feel the UPD cold air boost kit was very pricey for what it was... im very pleased with it!!
are you doing something similar? or just filters? someone needs to come up with a system that replaces those air boxes altogether!

yes I agree UPD is pricey but we will do same concept with few adjustments AND keep retail pricing around $200-$225.

If you look a the last photo in post #8 you can see how much the MB design hinders air flow. Other posts show used air filters and about 40% of the filter is unused, meaning poor air flow. It's cheap and I'm willing to give it a try for $147. It should work well with the tune. Marv

Did you buy two of them? On the website it shows only one.

Yes, I got the OE Tune in late June, 27th I think. Read my comments on the OE Tuning sale thread. It really changes the car. I'm an old fart, but I still like to goose it every now and then. It will definitely push you back in your seat. I'm VERY happy with it! Marv

In your opinion, do you think it may stress the vehicle too much?

Everything I've read says no problem. However, my 2013 only has 23,500 miles and has a CPO warranty for 2.5 more years. The beauty of the MyGenius handheld device is that you can easily change the tune back to the MB tune if you need to go to the dealer. I'm currently running a 91 octane tune and it runs fine on 87 octane gas. I ran it in CA on 91 octane and there isn't a huge difference between the two octanes. Other posts say to keep off the loud hammer for the first 1000 miles so the tranny can acclimate to the added torque. It's hard to not drive in the sport mode and gas it all the time! Marv

My kit was received today! Quick Ship! I will paint it flat black tomorrow and install. I'll let everyone know my thoughts early next week. Sunday AM I have a Mercedes event at the CO State Patrol track in Golden, CO. Should be a fun day and maybe I'll get to see how the CLS550 performs! I'm a pessimist though! More later. Marv
