Looking to purchase OEM Roof Racks, do the attachments have to be OEM as well? Or is the OEM Roof Rack compatible w/ aftermarket attachments (bike rack, snowboard rack, etc...).

Go with the OEM “basic carrier” as the fit is perfect. You do need the OEM attachments as well but it’ll all work far better than any of the other options, connects directly to the roof mounting points and probably will cost about the same as aftermarket. You probably won’t find anything on eBay for the CLS so best bet is to order from the dealer.

Not even slightly. The way the rack screws into the mounts and the plastic locking ends are situated, nothing comes into contact with the paint. I can take pictures in the next couple of days.
