Eco mode acting up

Hi guys. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this. When I drive my car and I’m coming to a stop sometimes the car will shutdown for a moment and the nav screen goes black. Then the car will turn back on and eco mode will be off. off. I cannot turn it (eco mode) back on unless I completely shut the car down and restart it. Is this a gremlin or a known issue? Thanks in advance.

You have a problem. This is not normal operation.

I agree. I have been doing some research and believe the aux battery needs to be replaced. I checked w my friend who is an mb service advisor and he believes the same although I have not received any messages in the car saying aux battery needs to be replaced. I’m going to go ahead and order a replacement battery for $105 from mb parts world and replace it myself and hopefully that does the trick. I will post back in 2 weeks and let everyone know.

Just turn it off when you get into the car. I have been doing this since I bought it back in April. I have no desire to turn it on or try to save gas. Maybe your eco start battery is bad or your starter. In the long term I think it will worn your starter a lot quicker than not using it. Just ask AMGBOY916. He replaced his starter at 60,000 miles. Hope that helps.

Btw, you don't need to replace it with Mercedes aux battery. Any motorcycle AGM battery will do.

Thanks first class. I do turn it off when I remember. However sometimes I just get in the car and go. I don’t like driving the car knowing something isn’t working the way it’s supposed to so I can’t overlook it. I will try the aux battery and hope that fixes it. If it doesn’t then maybe I will upgrade as I have been getting the itch lately . Actually recently inquired about a Panamera GTS. If the cls, which has proven to be reliable and trouble free for 30k miles can stay healthy, then I will likely stick w it. If the gremlins start appearing then I will move on.

Just a quick update. I replaced the aux battery and all is good again. I bought the battery from local dealer and it took me 15 min to swap out. Easy fix.
