Purchase Advice 2012 CLS550 4matic
Hello all... looking to get into a CLS550 4matic as a daily. Don't know if it will be a wise move, but I've always wanted one so I've been actively shopping for a used one. I happen to come across a 2012 with a 3 owner history, 67k mi on the clock. Car has zero accidents on decent amount of service records from MB Dealerships. The third owner bought the car as CPO and I suppose took advantage of the warranty and did as much work as possible.
The 60k service was done and on that day this was the work posted:
- Recommended maintenance performed
- Maintenance inspection completed
- Engine checked
- Transaxle overhauled
- Fuel injector(s) replaced
- Electrical system checked
- Engine/powertrain computer/module checked
- Transmission removed and reinstalled
- Oxygen sensor replaced
- Front wiper blades/refills replaced
- Engine wiring harness repaired
Some of this work concerns me, such as the "Transaxle overhauled, Transmission removed and reinstalled, and Engine wiring harness repaired". I don't recall too many of you posting about transmission issues, especially on the 4matic. Was this a known issue? Or is it better off that a MB Dealer fixed the issue and I should be safe to purchase and not have to worry about it anytime soon? Also being a 3 owner car, is that a sign I should check another car? It seems that every owner drove the car the average miles a year.

I can't comment on all the work done other than I would consider that a positive. I have a 2012. I'm the second owner and it has similar miles. I'm happy with the car and haven't had any issues.
