I am trying to locate the wiper motor relay on my 2014 CLS550. All the fuse and wiper diagrams do not label most of the relays. I just had a windshield replaced and the rain sensor is not working properly so, per another post, I am trying to do a reset which requires pulling the relay out and reinstalling it as the first step.
That is my plan b. Been raining a lot here over the past few days and I won't be able to get the car back to them until the end of the week as they are 50 miles away and my schedule is busy. Bugs me that it doesn't work. If I can solve it, it will save me a lot of time.
Thank you for the help. I found another thread that said it was in the rear SAM. I appreciate it!
I pulled the relay and reprogrammed and that stopped the pass at start-up. I also took it back to the installer to have them check the rain sensor. They said it is fine.
I notice some performance issues now that I did not have before. First, when changing the switch from off to the first mode, I get a single pass which did not happen before. Second, the rain sensor is much less sensitive now. The wipers do not speed up enough to keep up with the changing rain rates. Eventually they do but not like before. The sensing system certainly doesn't work as it did before the windshield replacement. Wondering if it needs to go to the dealer?
Maybe I should start a new thread on this problem?
You can have independent or dealer pull fault codes using Xentry (MB diagnostics) if any are found relative to rain sensor and corrected hit original installer for the cost as documented by MB invoice.
