Deleting the resonator

Hi all,

thinking about doing a resonator delete(straight pipe). Should I also be deleting the number 2 in picture below? It is another resonator and not a cat.

Also, do they sell a kit for this or Is it all custom piping?

Thanks

Those are called Secondary cats. I removed my resonator and mufflers, but those Sec cats are still there. There is somewhat of a drone, but not too much to bug my ears much. Deleting those Sec cats would def make it louder than just the big resonator. I think if you remove those and leave the mufflers in-place, you probably won't have much drone or maybe not at all. I would take them off

I believe that area is called the mid-pipe? You can buy a mid-pipe that falls between primary cats and the resonator. And I'd probably install a X pipe in the place of resonator. Mine is just straight pipes, i heard the X pipe would make the exhaust sound a bit more "crispy," whatever that means.

Yeah I will remove both then.

I heard Xpipe is not as loud so I would go with the straight pipe.

That topic is always a bit controversial. I hear different answers each time haha. I was talking to this shop nearby after I removed the resonator with straight pipes. He told me to get an X pipe instead. He told me not to get H pipe either. Maybe X/H pipe will reduce some of the drone noise?
I still have them with straight pipes, tho.
