Reman transmission cost

Hi All,
I have a 2012 CLS550 with 99k on it. About year ago I started noticing some "slipping" going from 2nd to 3rd gears. This condition has progressively worsened so should I really get on the accelerator the car basically bucks and goes into a "limp" mode. So I have learned to baby the car and once it is above 30mph it drives fantastic.
Recently the CEL came on and my local mechanic read the codes and they all related to transmission slippage. 0894-0735-0732.

Mercedes techs also confirmed this, and wanted $900 to drop the pan to look for metal but I decided after reading through many posts about the 0894 codes that a new transmission was on the horizon for me. I didn't need to spend $900 to confirm this.

I asked for a quote for a Remanufacture transmission.
For parts alone it was 8K!
with labor:11K!

Anyone know a cheaper alternative?

These are available used for $1,200 and less all day long. I would buy the lowest mile guaranteed unit you can find and have it refreshed at an honest, privately owned trans shop. Use a non-dealership shop to do the swap - the shop I use in Phoenix is very good and a fraction of the cost of taking it to the dealer. Good luck!
