Mercedes CLS 350 CDI 2011
Mercedes CLS two batteries?
Hi, I have a CLS 350 CDI and I’m having trouble identifying if/where the second auxiliary battery is. There seems to be contradicting information everywhere, the car is a c218 (2011) NON stop start. The car is struggling to start now it’s cold, done a recondition charge with my CTEK but now confused as to weather there is another battery that may need a recondition, it’s also going to be difficult replacing the battery if it is knackered as sites seem to show a small and a large neither of which really match what’s under the bonnet. Any advice appreciated. Thanks

009822108 is correct if you do not have an auxiliary heater (code 228) post VIN if you want confirmation. Engine compartment battery function is to start the engine + primary power source for all systems. If auxiliary (backup) battery were bad “Auxiliary Battery Malfunction” message would appear and should not affect starting.
