M278 cold start rattle noise
@2012 CLS 500 with 4.7 M278 engine with 60k miles on the odometer - when cold start it sounds like a bag of nails was stuck in the engine belt... totally quietens after a minute or two. Not a single "ding" noise when warmed up.
Does anyone have the engine numbers affected by the chain tensioner recall (I live in Dubai so not much of a possibility for a recall, but I can handle it myself if I can verify my engine was affected).
Is that all it takes to get it sorted?
And one last question - what if I dont do anything about it?
