Spark Plug question
I was going to change out my spark plugs since I bought my car used and had no idea when it was done last. Turns out they are in excellent condition so I saved myself the trouble. However, I noticed that while everything I've researched calls for a Bosch part number ZR6SII3320, the one I pulled out had an "R" at the end.
I'm confident that the ones I purchased will work fine since even the Bosch website says this is the part number. Curiosity wants me to know why the "R"? I can only assume this a Mercedes-specific part number so they can stamp their emblem on it.
What do you guys think?
Regards,
Austin
BOTH: ZR6SII3320 & ZR6SII3320R are compatible. You can use either, I just wouldn't mix them.
Spark plugs that have an "R" at the end of the part number are usually a Resistor type spark plug. From what i understand, they're meant to create less radio frequency interference (RFI) which can cause misfiring and "noise" heard through the radio.
