2014 cls. Original battery is getting weak. Replacing it tomorrow
For awhile I got change aux battery warning that I ignored and no longer get. ECO start doesn’t come on which is fine with me but I think I want to change the aux battery also.
Costco has the main battery for $175. Where should I get the aux battery from?
Other than just RR the batteries is there anything else to do? I read a thing on restoring window and steering wheel limits. It said to avoid that keep a battery booster attached To the remote jump terminals? I don’t think I have them as the battery is in the front.
Is it necessary to keep a 12v charge on the car to replace either battery?
TIA

Idk about Costco batteries, I have other vehicles that have had them and they generally get weak in about a year and a half, but that's been my experience with them. Their warranty allows you to swap them out whenever since it's Costco though.

I've been buying them from my local battery shop, they provide me with 3 years warranty, as long as I keep the receipt. Still paid half price than at the dealer

I'm in the same situation, battery is getting weak.. command/radio is off when I start the car, battery just registered 50% on my charger.
So.. I just ordered a new battery from "Battery's Plus" with installation and they immediately called me and told me they are not allowed to do battery installations on my car model. They told me if I disconnect the battery I will need a dealership or garage with ODB to reset the computer in order to start the car afterward. This is my third MB and I've never heard of such a thing, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if the aux battery in the trunk kept all the settings in tack.
Please someone confirm and tell me this place is a crock and that I don't need a computer reset after a battery change.

You don't need a computer reset after battery change. What he might have meant, was what Tbbt CLS said - all presets, windows and something else will need to be reset if you completely disconnect the battery. Thus the plug-ins. Most likely, they just didn't want to deal with you, unfortunately.

Thanks, with the cold weather I think they didn't want to deal with it either! I changed it out last night, now all set.
NOTE: I like the easy access terminal points, allows someone to also jumper a spare battery to them while changing out the battery if you don't want to completely lose power.
