So I took the CLS400 to muffler specialist
Several of my friends referred me to Classic Muffler Services in SJ, California as they were happy with the service. I met Andy, the owner. Super nice guy.
I told him that I'd like a low <3000 RPM throaty but not too loud sound and also minimal in-cabin droning at freeway speeds - what would he recommend?
First recommendation - both muffler delete - $200
Second recommendation - x-pipe with Magnaflow mufflers - $600 installed.
Anyone have experience with any of the above? I'm leaning towards the muffler delete, as I've heard some CLS550 with just muffler delete and it sounds great!

I'd start with muffler delete. It's cheaper to start with that and then switch over rather than the other way around.

Not really a fan of V6 sounds but there was a CLS400 in Asia that I found on YouTube that is the best sounding CLS400 I've heard. It does have a burble tune + exhaust mods to make it sound like this.
