2014 CLS550 4-Matic Weird smoke/crackling sound from trunk sound system wiring

2014 CLS550 4-Matic Weird smoke/crackling sound from trunk sound system wiring
Hello Everyone!
As I was cruising today, I started hearing a weird popping sound coming from the rear of the car around the rear window area and as I investigated I noticed white smoke and weird crackling sound. So I removed the trunk linking to investigate and noticed that it was coming from a vented piece that looked like an Amp but I could be wrong, and that sound and smoke comes on only when the car is switched on and then takes about 3 minutes to go away when its switched off. I also noticed that turning off the entertainment system doesn’t help and the smell is electric wiring related, so I have taken a video of it and I hope that someone can advise on what needs to be done or what the part is called or what the issue could be. p.s I had the car towed to the close MB dealership but in the meantime I wanted to see if anyone has any previous experience with this or what can be done to save time and not have to deal with the dealership and their diagnosis
