I use Hengst E155H D122 but different year CLS's used different filters so best to check with dealer to get the MB part number that matches your VIN then shop around online. Hengst and Mann should both work fine for quality

There are definitely two different styles of filter on the M278. At my first oil change I bought the filter with the stem on it, turns out mine used the filter without the stem.
