cup holders
Just sat in the CLS for the second time. This time it was a CLS 55 AMG. I like it except for the cup holder. While I think it can hold my sodas fine, I think it would get in the way of my arm holding the gear shift. I like driving with 1 hand on the steering wheel and 1 hand of the gear shift. I guess its like a habit when I had a stick shift.
Can anybody tell me if they have this problem where they can't put a soda and hold the gear shift confortably at the same time?

i do the same thing. heres what i found. if i put the drink in the passenger side holder, i can keep my hand on the shifter. if i have a passenger in the car who needs to use the cup holder, i simply use the closer one in the rear center console. this way, the drink is totally out of the way, and that rear cup holder is much deeper, and may provide better grip for your drink.

Try driving with both hands on the wheel and using the shift buttons like they are designed for. Are you going to do some hard driving while drinking?
