Have also read that annual production will be 30,000 units. Not sure about US allocation but UK allocation is 2000 this year (launch year) and 4000 thereafter.
Hope they keep it to low production levels to keep the exclusivity.
Anyone know production levels of other quality cars e.g. SL, CL, Porsche 911, BMW 6?

Hi Guys
Local dealer here in Aberdeen Scotland has advised that they are to only get 6 cars a year at the moment ! Hoping to get mine about October time .

"Mercedes-Benz has planned a yearly production of 30,000 units worldwide, of which around 8000 will come to the States. The factory expects half of the total sales to be coming from current BMW, Audi and Jaguar owners. The CLS500 arrives in the showrooms in January 2005. Pricing is set at approximately $65,000, which is above the E- and below the S-Class. The CLS55 AMG will be on sale one month later with about a $25,000 premium over the CLS500."
