1st time maintenance of M272 engine
Some mechanic told me to change oil as early as possible
said, 1000 miles while others comment the new car oil
is the best, keep them as long as possible.
Check the setting on car,it said 15000 Km (9375 miles)
Anyway, I changed it and come out few findings
(1) the oil filter is the same as existing MB models.
(2) the air filter is the same as SOHC V6 engines.
yes, you can swap K&N, BMC ...whatever anytime.
(3) ME 7.2 engine management system is quite new
I asked to enrich the fueling 10% (used to set it up on W203/W209/W211 models for performance)
but can't find this function now.
(4) same exactly 8 liters as the old engine, oil ruler is back
on this new engine ! you can check the oil level
youself or by level sensors.
