Question Brake Dust

i seem to have an excessive amount of brake dust build up on my wheels. both with factory and aftermarket wheels. after half a day of driving, the wheels are covered. im not sure if this is cause the brakes are new, but i didnt have this prob with AMG brakes on my last car. anyone else see the same? anyone have any luck with waxing your wheels, what did you use?

Adam, according to what i know all mercedes have this problem with the factory pads... Last week i used some Meguiars spray wax on my rims and i think its really working brake dust has been left at a very minimum for example i took a car wash monday night and the rims still look very clean (a tiny bit of gray dust on the lip area) but all i have to do is wipe them down and it looks great again!! or maybe im getting lucky but i do mostly drive highway driving about 250 miles per week

It's not so much a problem as it is a result of being equipped with high performance brake pads, for extra stopping power as these cars are built for the Autobahn. Regardless it is a little annoying to have to clean so frequnetly, I am sure.

I think the key is to avoid putting dressing on the tires; I also avoid wheel cleaners: despite what they say, they are highly abrasive...

I have been using Zaino on our current/past cars and wheels for 6+ years with good success. Bimmer factory pads are not known for their cleanliness either. Usually just some of their carwash and a "disposable" MF cloth. Have also used Eagle A2Z and it is very mild on the wheels compared to most of the others out there.
