from my understanding the CLS sport package has the same rear bumper as the CLS 55.. if you go on amgs website it shows that the quad exhaust tip are available and dosent say htat you have to trim the bumper.. but im not to sure to be honest with ya..

with the AMG sport kit, u get 2 AMG Oval tips, one on each side. for the CLS55, they use a quad exhaust, 2 Ovals on each side, the bumper is different between the 2, u cannot fit the quad without cutting the bumper.

look at the silver piece in the middle, the CLS55 clearly has larger cut outs. i wonder if the piece in the middle can be swapped out????

First we need to confirm that the exhaust opening in 55 is wider than the 500. I already posted a question in 55 forum https://mbworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=105572 unfortunately no one answer yet. But from adam's pictures, it seems to me that it is wider opening in 55 than 500. In this case, we need to find out that is the center piece can swap out or not. I briefy looked at that 2 days ago in my car and I'm not sure that the center piece can remove it, hints that it is part of the rear bumper. If that is the case then if you want a quad muffer then you need to get a 55 bumper or one of the tuners bumper. I'll check it tonight when I get home and let you know. In the mean time, if you can, please post a respond in my post in 55 forum and ask again, hope someone will answer that.
Thanks,

after looking under my car today, it looks like the rear center piece is removable, without changing the whole bumper, i could see the mouting brackets below the car. i will search for a part number on the CLS55 center piece, and hope it solves all of our probs!

I thought about this before I bought my car with AMG option on it. Please allow me to share that with you.
We all know without the kit is going to be $5K less. It seems you are like me that you won't go for plan CLS and you want to put some kit/exhaust/wheels there. From my experience, body kit with installtion (good quality kit $2.5K+), 18" wheel ($2K+) and exhaust ($1.5K+), we will end up $6K minimum not to mention at least $1K+ different for 19" and quality installation cost. Anyway my point is if you want a good resell value vehicle, like me again I doubt I will drive this until the car dies, therefore the resale value is imporatant to me therefore when I bought a vehicle I want to go for the OEM kit/wheels/exhaust that as close as what I want. In my case, I might switch it to quad exhaust IF the center piece is interchangeable, 19" wheel for look but I afraid I will sacfrice the ride since it is still a weekend family car for my family and last but not least I will not touch the kit since it will be hard to put it back the original way and not to mention that I have not seen a excellent fit/paint for the kit installtion unless some cazy expensive job that I never want to pay. If you decide to pay all the extra for body kit/19" wheel/exhaust and paint job to match $80K+ vehicle I strongly encourage you that look in CLS 55 instead of CLS 500, it will be a much better off for you not to mention 150+ hp different

[QUOTE=adam76]u get AMG split spoke staggered wheels, much better then regular, and a must if u do not planning on adding anything fancy. also with the AMG kit, you get the best looking front bumper by far, IMO, better then any of the other tuners out there. the Brabus rear diffuser doesnt look that great, u dont have to purchase a new exhaust, but probably a good idea.
Adam76,
I'm with you "AMG kit, you get the best looking front bumper by far, IMO, better then any of the other tuners out there." but I afraid to voice it out and against some buddy here with Brabus and Carlsson front bumper. Anyway, I'm looking in a Carlsson add on front lip spoiler. I think it will bring out the front even more! In thise case, I can easily remove it and sell this piece when I sell my car. My point is I want nothing but add on compoents, easy on and off without ruin my resell value... Did I mention to you I'm a cheap guy :p
Thanks,
hlkc

I noticed this little while ago but I think this is a whole silencer means whole cat-back exhaust not just the tips. With AMG/Mercedes style, I doubt they will sell just the tips. I wish I am wrong and I'll be the first to order it. I think the easy way to find out is call the dealer and see how much and if it is less than $200 I'm sure it will be just the tips but if it is $2K+, I'm sure it will be a pair of cat-back exhaust. But I bet the dealer will not able to help since this is a european accessories, maybe we can refer this toour friend, MBenzNL Steve for help.

i love the door sills too, wonder if theyre dealer installable, since i ordered b4 the option was available. i did the AMG package as well so id have nice winter shoes, and take the 20s off when the snow hits
.
hlkc- after adding 20s and the drop, barely notice a diff. with good quality wheels and tires, ride is not sacrificed. i still drive in Sport II all the time with the work done, and it still rides like a dream. contact me if youre ever in chicago for a ride!
