Tire/Wheel Insurance?
If you bought it, how much did you pay? Dealer wants about $700 for 5 yr coverage. I plan on only keeping the car 2-3 years maximum.

Don't know. I was thinking it was road hazard insurance. Will take a look at my mother's policy on her E350 today and take a magnifying glass to the small print. Are you refering to built up brake dust in the "crevices" when you say black speckles? You can use a clay bar to get rid of built up brake dust. Just remember to toss it away after use.

I guess these are permanent speckles from hot brake dust particles which inevitably eat up the enamel. They get worse over time too
MD, please educate me briefly on the clay bar, I don't know what it is.

Thanks for the info Adam76.
Numerous companies sell them. It is something like a heavy modeling clay that will remove contaminants from the exterior of your car by rubbing it over the surface with a soapy lubricant. I use a section of the bar always on a new car or when redoing a "wax" job. I use a clean separate section of claybar for the wheels then toss it away. I also strip the dealer wax off then apply my favorite polymer "wax" ) It gets the finish as smooth as glass. You don't want to use the wheel claybar section on your paint. Toss it in the trash. Brake dust is very abrasive. Please feel free to PM if you have any further questions.
