a couple of weeks ago, i was trying to lock my vehicle after getting out (i usually just press the button on the handle while walking away) and it didn't lock. i tried a few more times...nothing. then i pulled the key out of my bag and tried pressing the lock button...nada. after a couple of minutes, it finally locked. i didn't think much of it, but now it happened again to me twice in one day.

i got in the car this morning and started driving and all of a sudden the display said "key not recognized" and started beeping and flashing red. i had the key in my pocket. i pulled it out and it still keep beeping and then all of a sudden stopped.

could the battery in it be low or something? i've only had it like 5 months. TIA.

 

i think the battery's running out -- yes, my E-class Keyless Go runs out in about 5 months as well. (and i'm pretty sure they're the exact same system)
