2006/CLS350 vs 2003/E500
Curious to know how much difference between
M272/7G vs M113/5G in a straight line.
Invited a friend with an E500 to find it out.
We line up in front of a traffic light, both floored when light turn green.
1. CLS jump ahead (F/R 3.27 advantage), 1~2 CL lead
2. E500 fight back at around 50 mph, stick to my ***
(gear ratio advantage for E500/5G 0~60 mph)
3. CLS kept about 1 CL ahead to 110 mph then I braked to
warn the E500, a 90 degree turn is up front, the E500 with airmatic is marginal to pass the corner in WOT
though CLS with PSS-9 is more capable,we both slow down.
4. After 130 mph,E500 could walk away CLS350, IMO
The straight line performance is very close each other, think the CLS350 is even 50 Kg heavier than the E500, we've the same 18" light forged rims, his rims
are Work 2pcs by the way, mine are BBS.
