Beware of remote trunk opener!!!!!!!!!
Just want to share my experienced. Well here I am parked my car in front of my accountant's parking building. Walked into his office which is not that far from where I parked my car. My car have keyless-go feature so my key stays in my pocket all the time. After about 30 minutes, one of his staff reported via intercom that there was a CLS500 parked outside with its trunk open. I rushed outside and my trunk is fully wide open waiting for someone to steal all my important items in it (checks, bills, cards, back up drives etc). Fortunately, nothing was stolen despite its exposure to the walking public. Now it comes to my mind that I might have press this remote trunk opener unknowingly while its inside my jean's pocket. The remote buttons are big and wide and can be easily press unintentionally. That was close to a big headache. Is there a way to inactivate this remote truck opener feature from the keys.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I did not have that but in few occasions when I washed my car and the key in my pocket I locked and unlocked the car few times... So with your key in your pocket I am not surprise you accidentally open the trunk.

What's the difference between accidentally hitting the button for you trunk lid vs accidentally hitting the button to unlock the entire car. Both can be depressed accidentally, so to suggest disabling the feature is a bit silly.

Unlocking the trunk, I mean not just unlocking the trunk but opening it will not re-close itself thereby exposing all the content of your trunk for an indefinite period of time.

the keyless go, does that come with a credit card style to keep in your wallet rather than carrying the remote key with you? A friend has an S500 and he has the keyless go and in his wallet is this credit card looking thing, all he does is touch any silver/chrome strip to open and lock the doors.???? I'm just wondering if the credit card size electronic emitter is something else?

the card thingy is the old style, first generation of the keyless go, MB has now gone to the single key thing, which is what we all got.
