Tire question?

After a longish journey and not having checked for at least 3 months, I noticed my pressures were way down..in the very low 20's. Now it states in the door..28F/32R, yet in the filler flap..it says 27F/28R and these measurements are from cold..with which I went with and filled up with air accordingly. Noticed after an hours journey..measurements taken were now approx 30's front and rear. Is this about right for normal driving conditions? Have the AMG package on CLS500
TIA.

They are fine, because air expands as it gets hotter.
But I'd still add a PSI or two in all of the tires for that 'extra' feel when driving.

branmin,

US CLS comes with tire pressure warning system as standard equipment althought it is different than TPS in other MB models. If you set it to the desired psi it will warn you next time if it drops too low.

"US CLS comes with tire pressure warning system as standard equipment althought it is different than TPS in other MB models. If you set it to the desired psi it will warn you next time if it drops too low."

Checked in my manual and it is very unclear how to set desired PSI..just says press arrow on wheel on the + sign to "Calibrate?"

Strange things happening with my tires......as I mentioned previously..they had been set the other day to around 32 when hot..............they all went down some 14 hours later to around 25 from cold. Will chk tomorrow as I have now pumped them up to 35(from hot) and see what they read tomorrow.

I agree with you, it is unclear to me too. From best of my knowledage, we set 1 psi for all 4 tires and if it goes low we need to guess which one. Not like SL and S, it will show each tire psi in the dash.
