Door Damage on bodyline. $%^$!

Door Damage on bodyline. $%^$!
After enjoying a nice family Thanksgiving dinner, we went to back out of the relative's driveway. Their electric gate malfunctioned and closed on the car.( that's another story for another time.) An adjustment bolt on the end of the gate struck the car just on and above the bodyline on the passenger side door above the rocker panel. It left a small ding and broke completely through the paint to bare metal. 
Will try to get a picture up tomorrow.
PDR is out of the picture. Will they have to replace the whole outer door skin or replace the entire door? Going to have nightmares now about paint matching the black opal.

Oh man. Thats horrible!
The worst holiday nightmare. There should be some excellent body shops in that area though. To bad it was not just a ding. There are some great painless dent repair folks. What a bad circumstance
