aftermarket HID's and wheels
hey my salesman has a barolo red CLS500 with everything I want except the Xenon light package and the dealer cannot install, it has to be a factory installation when the car is made. i've seen a couple of guys do aftermarket HID'S (8000k) on the fog lights. you think instead of having order a car and wait 3 months I should take the car they have in stock and get aftermarket HID's for the headlights and foglights? it's going to be a leased car so I don't want to affect the warrant although I think the chances are slim. plus putting the HID's in won't burn the lenses on the headlights or fog lights right?
also I want to get either 20" wheels staggered fitment, 20x8.5 front, 20x10 rear or 22" fitment, 22x8.5 or 9 front, 22x10 or 10.5 rear. besides wheel alignment does the computer in the car have to be calibrated or anything like that??

HID? 20in Look Great! 22in TOO BIG!
Hello, Not sure on the Xenon lights but I have 20x9 with 255/30/20 and 20x11 with 305/25/20 and it been lowered 40mm and the ride is still very comfortable. 22in wheels will not fit and if they did the CLS would like a MONSTER TRUCK! and 21in still look to big. As painful as it may be now, I would wait and get the car with the factory lights. Not only are they bixenon, they turn into the direction of travel, something aftermarket xenons don't do. I have no comment on the wheels...
