I just received a "revised" Confirmation of Delivery for my CLS550 showing that the Gas Guzzler tax dropped from $1,700 to $1,300. My dealer will refund the $400. U.S. buyers might want to check your paperwork to make sure you didn't overpay. This is for 2007 only, the 2006 GGT was $1,300.
P.S. if this "tidbit saves anyone $400 I accept PayPal!

The tax, $1,300, is listed on the window's sticker. How come your dealer charged you $1,700 in the first place?

I'm picking up the car at the factory under the European Delivery Program. MBNA sends the buyer a Confirmation of Delivery that you need to pick up the car. My first one was dated July 6, 2006. The price of the car is printed out on it including the Gas Guzzler tax as is the 7% discount. They obviously screwed up and needless to say the dealer didn't point out the difference after I had paid on the old Invoice.

Talking about screwing up..... The GGT was shown to be $0 on MBUSA site for a very long time when they first put up the info. for the 550 few months ago.
