Anyone with mold in the ventilation system?
My folks CLS500 has mold growing in the ventilation system.
Its been to the dealer four times now and the problem is still there.
I filed a lemon law complaint on their behalf and a rep from MB flew in to inspect the car.
He proposed using a chemical that is not approved by MB to try and solve the problem. He also suggested doing some ridiculous things such as running the AC at full blast a few minutes before shutting the car down and raising the temp.
Needless to say my folks are really pissed, and 80K car with mold is just not acceptable.
Has anyone else had this issue?
My family has owned countelss MB's and non have had mold nor have any of my non MB cars.

I have stinky air conditioning sometimes on CLS 320. It's a problem for other people too. Try to see in this CLS forum the guy that posted 'Question'.
it's here https://mbworld.org/forums/cls-coupe-c219/169943-question.html

Mention P-B-83.30/74d MAR06 Air Conditioning Musty/Moldy Odor Complaints. Although this DTB is specific to C, CLK, and the E class, there’s no doubt in my mind it will soon be updated to include the CLS.
Under certain conditions, typically in a hot and humid climate more noticeable when starting the vehicle due to residual condensation on the evaporator and on the interior surface of the heater box, the vehicle may emit a musty/moldy odor from the air conditioning system. Wynn’s AIRCOMATIC Ultrasonic A/C Cleaning System together with Wynn’s AIRCO-CLEAN Ultrasonic A/C Treatment is recommended.
If within three months after using the Wynn’s product the air conditioning continues to emit a musty/moldy odor from the vents a new slanted heater box which allows condensation to drain better and a PU coated evaporator may be needed (early production vehicles).
Also worth mentioning at this time: P-B-94.20/05b AUG06 Odor in the Interior, VIN range A000001 to A075800. A strong oily (putty) or acidic (vinegar) or butyric acid (rancid butter) odor may be the soundproofing mat on the interior side of the transmission tunnel. This odor will be present even with the engine and HVAC turned off and becomes more intense after being parked for an extended period of time with the windows and roof closed. The soundproofing material should be replaced and any stains removed.
ALL is covered under warranty.

2007 CLS 550 and some other MBZ
MAR06 and AUG06, are those the production dates of the vehicle? I got the '07 model but was made in AUG '06 but so far no strange odor. I will be taking in for the initial check up, so should I mention that code to the dealer and ask them to change the soundproofing mat just in case? Thanks.
