La Area Question

you must buy a euro nav unit for it to play dvd's. if you have satellite, it gets difficult because you have to pull over to switch between euro and usa mode for dvd/sat. do a search, its all here somewhere.

Its a good amount of work and there's not much profit in it for us (shops) and if you get it for less than around 1200 - 1400 then they're doing a ghetto job - unless you want a ghetto job...

Yep, I agree. I watched as my installer hooked up my nav tv. You need to ship the factory unit off to nav tv next day air, then they take it apart and perform work that only an experienced tech should do. The unit then comes back to your installers shop the next day. He then re installs your head unit, then has to install a DVD player to your unit (unless u get the modded euro unit).
Nav Tv charges these shops around $800 to $900 for the service, so the shop makes about $200 to $300 profit for a handfull of work.
I had no problem paying for it, and i am very satisfied. It is a very useful mod.
