I think it looks great. It is minor but the car didn't need much to begin with. The only thing that looked dated was the grille. The interior upgrades look good too. And I like that they were able to integrate the new COMAND software into this car without having to redo it completely.

The only thing I am wondering about is the rear LED turn signals. They look very cool, but I saw a camoed CLS facelift in NJ near MB HQ and it had red LED turn signals. Also I think the LED turn signals on the C-Class are yellow in Europe but red here. I am not sure why they are choosing red for the US market?

I don't see why not. The updated one really only has a new grille and new taillamps. The other differences are new steering wheel and a new COMAND which might not not be upgradeable.

Don't forget about the 32% larger side mirrors.

Smile Mmmm..

Looks good but a few things:

1. The steering wheel does not do it for me.
2. Ok, the grille would be easy to change. However, the grille looks fine on the CLS as is.
3. The command..based on what is can do that is new, may be a worth a turn.
4. The tail lamps...not sure how easy that would be, I imagine not too hard.
5. The mirrors are 32% larger, hmmm, I think that could get a pass.

That's about it? It's cool, but not enough to say WOW! I have to do trade-in, etc. Then again, it is opinion, and these are just my thoughts on it.

P.S. - I do wonder about that COMMAND. Are there any specs on new capabilities, etc. How easy would it be to add to an 06 or 07? Those questions float in my hand along with all of the web and flash coding I am doing this weekend. LOL.

I'm not sure about how easy it is to add the new COMAND but I do think it would be worth it. It basically has the new system like in the S/CL/C-Classes but without the controller, so you control it by the buttons on the head unit.

The mirrors are actually uglier in my opinion, so I would keep the ones on your car.

Mirrors

So, I wonder.. it is very hard to see around the corner with the mirrors we have now. With the new ones that come larger, can you see anything when you turn left? I think they are uglier...but the turning signals on them look cool.

This car needs new side mirrors! My test drive of this car was scary. Blind spots galore. Until I see the new mirrors in person I'll wait to judge.

Smile Blind spots?

I never saw any blind spots, but I suppose it is the way I have my mirrors adjusted. I had to adjust my seat/mirrors to get it right.

I don't like the new mirrors, they are OK. The steering wheel on the other hand sucks. It looks exactly like the R Class steering wheel, which is fine in a Tourer but in a CLS? NOT.
