Smile Well...

This is the deal, as I am sure you may be aware of some parts:

1. At 50K your warranty is up. So you have to manage the risk of that.
2. Getting an extended warranty through Mercedes is expensive. I was quoted a price of $5000 for an additional 50K. Of course I said no, and saved up money for in case anything happens and put it into a high yield savings account, for when my warranty is up. ING anyone?
3. I would not recommend getting a warranty through a third party. From experience, most dealers and shops WOULD NOT accept third party warranties due to them not paying claims. I had got a warranty and ran into this problem. I called ALL MB dealers in Georgia, none of them would accept a third party. One of them even had unpaid claims on her desk back from July 07. I had to cancel the warranty and got all my money back, despite them telling me "it will be fine" etc, if you can't get a warranty honored, it is worthless. I went through highly reputable warranty companies, but MB would not budge unless the warranty is from them.
4. In light of that, if you do buy the car get a price on it that is low-balled. I got my 06 CLS with all options, and I do mean all options (look at my sig) for 53K, with 30K miles even on it. So, haggle a price according to the options and miles, which should be well under $50K.

Hope this helps and gives some insight.

Smile Btw...

On the Atlanta auction, Manheim's there were listed sold as of today:

10 06 CLS 500's - price range $40-$45K only ONE had 55K on it, all the rest no more that 35K.

2 CLS55 AMG's - $59K, 12K miles, and $56K, 33K miles respectively.

1 CLS550 07 - $53k, 6K miles.

This should help get a frame of reference on pricing/miles to expect. If you cannot get a price like that, consider eBay or come over to Atlanta! LOL.

Thanks all for the help! I'll be sure to treat the new car nice, puts some rims on her, and keep her clean to ensure I keep the Mecedes Benz reputation alive!

Bro unless you would get that car for an incredibley low cost it aint worth it.. You should be able to get an 06' with 15-30k miles easy.. I see them online and on ebay all the time. I'd wait and shop around... Warranty is big on these cars.

Exclamation Some insight on a warranty....

The warranty from MB on a CLS500:

3 Yr/50K miles, $200 ded. = $4100
4 Yr/60K miles $200 ded. = $4700

This is a warranty that includes everything EXCEPT wear items, (brakes, tires, blah, blah,) and the Navigation.

Confirmed from MB Friday, I am actually considering the 4 year. I know, I know, that is a lot. However, I plan to keep the car and the warranty is up to 105K miles. Considering costs to repair suspension, airmatic, distronic, keyless go, transmission, engine, and all the other sensors etc. It could more than pay for itself. It's a serious thought.

Comments and suggestions are welcome! I am still a little on the fence on this...
