My lease is up on my CLS next year, and I am not sure on replacing it with the new one since the exterior changes are minor. I have the 5.0 engine - is the new 5.5 signifigant enough to get another CLS? I have been thinking about getting the facelifted 911 coming out this fall...

The changes which have been made since your car are quite nice. I would recommend driving the CLS550 to get a feel for the engine. It is quite an improvement in both power and driveability vs. the older generation engines. Alsong with the 550 in MY07, the CLS received several technical updates from the E-Class facelift including the new generation breaking system. This system provides much better feel vs. the original SBC system. Finally, for the facelift, albeit very mild, the electronic upgrades might make the car woth a look. The entirely head unit includes all the latest technology (HD navi, music register, voice control, Birds-eye view, SD card playing, Bluetooth etc......) - something which cannot be said for the current system. I also like the new 3 spoke steering wheel. While these things might not make the decision for you, it would certainly make the car worth a look. Good luck.

I have a 2009 CLS63 AMG with P30 package on order. Should get it by mid June or so.

I contemplated between getting a 2008 cls63 amg with designo package along with the sport suspension and limited slip differential but finally decided to go for the facelifted 09 due to all of the changes.

I've been playing with an 09 SL600 for the last few days, and I'm impressed with the new Media Interface and electronics upgrade (very similar to new C Class Comand). I think the UBS slot is a nice addition, and I'm looking forward to the similarities across the line (except the S & CLK) that the new Comand units will bring. The difference in power between 500 & 550 made a big difference for me in the CLS, and am looking forward to upgrading into the CLS myself around summertime next year.

My lease is almost up as well, but I'm going a different route. Always wanted a Porsche so I'm looking at a 997 or a used 993TT. The wide body 993TT is awesome looking and can be driven until you beg for mercy. The kids are gone so it's just me and the wife it's time to play again. Goodluck with your choice I'm sure the new CLS will give you tons of joyful driving like it did me.

Mid-June, really? I was thinking about the 09 cls550 and my dealer said they won't be available until Aug/Sept. Are they realeasing the 63's earlier?

MY09 CLS should be out in May or June based on the release date in Europe.

Completion date for my order is May 15th. It will take about a month for the car to get here from Germany....so hopefully I should have it by mid June.
